Ricky Franklin is an Eritrean-Indian Songwriter and also a Singer. His initial exposure came through the success of his cover song videos uploaded to YouTube when he was 13 years old.
He initially signed to an Indian Label at the age of just 16 as a Music Producer and released his debut single “Blend” in 2018.
His debut EP, “Ardent,” which was published internationally, was released with the primary goal of pursuing a solo singing career.

Career
Franklin attended the Asmara School of Music in Eritrea at a young age, where he developed an interest in music. He was raised on Harnet Avenue in Asmara and attended community school as well as music and visual arts classes. His father and mother were both school teachers.
Franklin returned to India and completed his middle school education while self-learning music on the Internet. During his early adolescence, he began uploading singing covers, which quickly gained attention.
He eventually got signed to a record label and started working on his originals.
He went on to launch his career after releasing his debut EP “Ardent,” which received positive feedback and was featured on BBC’s Future Artists To Watch.
He then released his best-selling single, ‘Terminal,’ which was featured in major pop culture magazines such as Rolling Stone and others. In 2021, he will also work for Levi’s Music Project.
